3-2 LW 17-16 YTD
Pittsburgh (-16)
Purdue (-2)
Michigan St (+5.5)
Tulsa (0)
Navy (-3.5)
As bad as Pitt's defense looked last week, Rutger's D is giving up even more rushing yards. I think Rutgers is just going to run into an angry team. Pitt will get back to throwing to Fitzgerald and Co. like they should have last week, and they will just score too many points for Rutgers to keep up. Rutgers undefeated ATS record has to end sometime.
The Badgers are just a maddeningly inconsistent team, and there has to be a letdown after last week's wild win against the Buckeyes. Oh, and did I mention Purdue is just a flat out better team.
The Gophers-Spartans seems like a trap. Everybody and their brother is on the Spartans, which always makes me nervous. The Gophers have to be down after last week's crushing defeat, and Michigan St is just the hotter team right now.
I'm not an expert on the grand history of Nevada football, so I'm just going to go out on a limb and say that their win over Washington last week had to be one of the biggest wins in school history. I'm playing this one mostly on the letdown factor.
Navy's letdown game was supposed to be last week, but it was not to be. This game will probably be close as both teams can run, but can't stop the run very well. But Navy has the revenge factor here and I think will pull it out with a front door cover.
Thought of the week: If that Husker player who coldcocked that Mizzou fan had been a name player or a star, I expect that he would have not been suspended. (He wallops a defenseless person and gets one game as it is.) I'm sure if he was a bigger star the university would have tried to spin it that the fan attacked his fist with his face.
